Another fantastic event I was able to attend was the Mongrel Media Party for #TIFF13- with the cocktails and drinks flowing throughout the evening and nothing but delectable local eats offered, it was a delightful celebration at the Evergreen Brickworks.
Holy Chuck was on site to fill our bellies with burgers
Dumplings were a huge hit too from FeasTO. People lapped them up quickly so I had to be swift with taking photos! Hungry people makes for impatient onlookers. 😉
Mad Italian Gelato supplied us with cool creamy treats. The gelato flavours on hand included blood orange, lemoncello, chocolate, pistachio, stracciatella, and Ferrero Roche.
My favourite was pistachio and Ferrero Roche
Mad Italian also let us try some panini pressed sammies with roasted red peppers, cheese, and eggplant. Crisp, crusty exteriors, and gooey interior.
Cafe Belong, who also has their brick and motar restaurant at Evergreen Brick works fed us open-faced pulled pork sandwiches. The mound of meat was oh-so-tender.
Donuts are all the rage now and Paulette’s was present to satiate our cravings. The cakey fried rings were picture perfect and they were a lot of fun to devour.
Nothing says weenies like Fancy Franks hot dogs. Here, you could get them slathered with their homemade chili. Their store on College St. also offers many other varieties and toppings for your dog (i.e. pork belly)
When you crave Polish food, head to Cafe Polonez for traditional pierogies and cabbage rolls. Filling food that will stop any tummy hunger pangs in their tracks– guaranteed.
Cheese please! Cheesewerks is comfort food with an elevated fare. For instance, the Maui was a innovative spin on the well-known Hawaiian pizza with Swiss cheese, citrus roasted pork, smoked ham, new dill, and Dijon mustard
We got to sample Jim Beam’s newest creation Red Stag. The bourbon was laced with flavours of black cherry, spiced cinnamon, and honey tea. I took it straight up– no pansy soda mixed or ice for this gal!
Pinnacle Vodka let us try some very sweet whipped cream flavoured booze. Idea! Spiked gummie bears? 😉
